Information you provide:

• Account information — your name, email address, and password when you create an account
• Manuscripts — the book files you upload for audiobook production
• Payment information — processed securely by Stripe; we never see or store your full card number

Information collected automatically:

• Usage data — pages visited, features used, and session duration to help us improve the product
• Device information — browser type, operating system, and screen size
• Cookies — we use a session cookie to keep you logged in; we do not use tracking or advertising cookies

3. How We Use Your Information

• To produce your audiobook — your manuscript is processed through AI services (speaker detection, text-to-speech) to generate audio
• To manage your account — authentication, billing, token balances, and subscription management
• To improve the Service — understanding how features are used helps us build a better product
• To communicate with you — account-related emails, service updates, and responding to support requests

4. What We Do NOT Do

We want to be clear about what we will never do with your data:

• We do not sell your personal information to anyone
• We do not use your manuscripts or audio to train AI models
• We do not share your content with other users
• We do not use advertising trackers or sell data to ad networks
• We do not read your manuscripts — processing is fully automated

5. Third-Party Services

We rely on trusted third-party services to operate. Each has their own privacy practices:

• OpenAI — text-to-speech audio generation. Your manuscript text is sent to their API for audio synthesis. Per OpenAI's API data usage policy, API inputs and outputs are not used to train their models.
• xAI (Grok) — AI-powered speaker detection and analysis. Character and dialogue information is processed through their API.
• Stripe — payment processing. Stripe handles all payment information directly and is PCI-compliant.
• Amazon Web Services (AWS) — hosting, database, and file storage. All data is stored in the US (us-east-1 region).

6. Data Storage & Security

Your data is stored securely on AWS infrastructure in the United States. We use industry-standard security practices including:

• Encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS) for all data in transit
• Encrypted storage for files at rest (S3 server-side encryption)
• Hashed passwords (we cannot see your password)
• Database access restricted to authorized services only

7. Data Retention

We keep your data as long as your account is active. When you delete a project, the manuscript and generated audio files are permanently removed from our storage. If you delete your account, all associated data is removed within 30 days.

8. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access your personal data and download your generated audio files
• Correct inaccurate information in your account
• Delete your projects, audio files, and account
• Export your generated audiobook files at any time

9. Children's Privacy

eBook Narrator is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will remove it.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we'll notify you by email or through the Service. The "last updated" date at the top will always reflect the current version.
